One of my pet peeves about running multiple internet businesses is email maintenance of multiple accounts. I thought I was in heaven when I finally started using IMAP. With IMAP whichever one of my “configured computers” I used I used to be seeing updated and synchronized email. Then some day it occurred to me that maintaining a local email client on various machines was great provided that I was around my computers. So in an attempt to make simpler my communications and have it literally “follow me” no matter where I went and no matter what computer I was on I looked to Gmail.
Now I manage 24 separate email accounts from a single filters. In terms of the world knows there’s no difference even return addresses are proper and different to every email account. If you have multiple email accounts you will not believe the time saving part of this move.
You will find 4 basic steps to the process.
#1 – Forward your email accounts in your Gmail account. Most webmail (and domain email) accounts have forwarding. If you utilize a host you need to see your Cpanel and set up your email to forward to your Gmail account there. In case you have no idea how you can access your Cpanel call your host tech support.
#2 – Visit your Gmail account and go to Settings>Accounts and underneath the heading “When I obtain a message sent to one of my addresses:” select “Reply through the same address your message was sent to” Once you’ve done that click “Add another e-mail address” fill in the name you need to appear on the email account and so the full current email address. then click “Next Step” Within the next screen select “Send Verification” then visit your regular email client and search for the Gmail confirmation. Respond to the confirmation by clicking on the confirmation link.
At this time that exact e-mail address will always see your Gmail account and except if you carry out the two final steps you’ll just have a big listing of unorganized emails. These next two steps are actually very cool and makes Gmail a VERY powerful universal email client.
#3 – Select “Edit Labels” and add a new label. In my case I developed a label for my source-pro admin mail and I used a quick title like SP – Admin. You need to produce a Label for each and every of your own contact information you’re forwarding to Gmail.
#4 – This task is critical and can be the distinction between getting an unorganized ton of emails or perhaps a perfectly organized email system.
Click “Create a Filter” and then in the “To” box make the current email address you desire organized. Then click “Next Phase” and over the following screen select “Apply the label:” box, also, you’ll need to select the label ynrtxk matches the email address. Then click “Create Filter” and at this stage you’re ready to go. Every time Gmail receives a message addressed for that address it’s labeled and tracked. Set one your email addresses up and you’ll see what I mean. the fantastic part is you can set Gmail to deal with as many email addresses as you like.
Spam control – Without doubt Gmail has the best spam handling I’ve seen. it’s superior to Outlook or Thunderbird. This feature alone has reduced my “email time” considerably!
